Turn Off Work Notifications and Be Present This Weekend

We're now halfway through Mental Health Awareness Month, and it's time to do something for YOU!

While I always struggle with a single day or month highlighting challenges we face daily, it's an opportunity to shed additional light on the topic.

As we focus on this important issue, I wanted to share a simple but powerful suggestion for leaders and individuals: turn off your work email notifications and be present during the weekend.

For many of us, work can feel like a never-ending cycle. We're constantly checking our inboxes, responding to messages, and feeling pressure to be available 24/7. But the truth is, this constant state of alert takes a toll on your mental health and well-being.

It's vital to set boundaries and disconnect from work. By turning off your email notifications and being present during the weekend, you can give yourself the gift of uninterrupted time with loved ones, hobbies, and activities that bring you joy.

As leaders, we have a responsibility to display healthy work habits that promote work-life balance. Taking care of yourself shows your team that it's possible to be successful without sacrificing our mental health.

So let's all commit to disconnecting from work this weekend (and every weekend). Let's prioritize our mental health and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can create a more balanced and healthy workplace culture.

Are you going to disconnect this weekend?
